US AND UK TERMS / ABBREVIATIONS
US and UK follow different naming conventions. Most patterns will state whether terminology is used. If this is not the case you can use a handy trick to discover which convention is being used: there is no stitch called single crochet (sc) in UK terminology, and there is no half treble crochet (htr) in US terminology.
