Embroidery basic stitches

Although there it is possible to make dozens of different embroidery stitches, most are variations of  a few basic stitches like these:

Straight stitch; Back stitch; Stem stitch; Slip stitch; Cross stitch; Double stitch; Long-armed cross stitch; Buttonhole stitch; Blanket stitch; Herringbone stitch; Couching; Satin stitch; Padded satin stitch; Long and short stitch; French knot; Feather stitch; Fly stitch; Bullion knot; Turkey work; Chain stitch; Lazy daisy stitch.

As you stitch try to keep the back of your work as neat as possible.
