This lovely shawl is a square shape, folded diagonally and finished with a deep, decorative fringe.
Materials: Yarn: 700 gr.; No. 9 (3mm) Disc crochet hook.
Measurements: 54in. (137cm.) square (not including fringe).
Tension/gauge: 1 patt, to 4in. in width. Make 269 ch.
1st Row: Miss 6 ch., 1 d.tr. in next ch., 1 ch., miss 1 ch., 1 d.tr. in next ch., * 4 ch., miss 2 ch., 1 d.c. in next ch., 4 ch., miss 2 ch., 1 d.tr. in next ch., (1 ch., miss 1 ch., 1 d.tr. in next ch.) twice, rep. from * to end.
2nd Row: (1 d.c., 2 ch.) in first d.tr., * (1 ch., miss 1 ch., 1 d.tr. in next d.tr.) twice, 5 ch., miss (4 ch., 1 d.c. and 4 ch.), 1 d.tr. in next d.tr., rep. from * to last d.tr. and turning ch., 1 ch., miss 1 ch., 1 d.tr. in next d.tr., 1 ch., miss 1 ch., 1 d.tr. in top of turning ch.

Rep. 2nd and 3rd rows until work forms a square, ending with a 2nd row. Fasten off.
FRINGE
Wind yarn round a piece of cardboard 8 ½ in. wide and cut along one side. With wrong side facing, using crochet hook and 2 strands of yarn, fold yarn in half and draw loop through a st. at edge, draw ends through this loop and pull tightly to form knot. Repeat round edge of shawl, working into every 3rd st.
