10 (11,12) balls in #1102 red (MC)
1 ball in #3 white (CC)
. One pair each sizes 5 and 6 (3.75 and 4mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
. Size 5 (3.75mm) circular needle, 24"/60cm long

GAUGE
20 sts and 30 rows to 4"/10cm over St st using larger needles. TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
BACK
DIAMOND EDGE PATTERN
*With smaller needles and MC, cast on 2 sts.
Row 1 Knit.
Rows 2-10 Cast on 1 st, k to end - 11 sts.
Rows 11-19 K2tog, k to end.
Row 20 K2tog - 1 st. Place st on holder. Rep from * for desired number of diamonds.
GARTER STRIP EDGE
With smaller needles and MC, cast on a multiple of 10 sts plus 2.
Joining row 1 (RS) K5, k next st tog with 1 diamond from holder, *k9, k next st tog with 1 diamond from holder; rep from*, end k6. Cont in garter st with MC for 9 rows. With CC, work 4 rows in garter st.
BACK
Work 10 (11, 12) diamonds and then with smaller needles and MC,cast on 102 (112, 122) sts and work in garter strip edge pat for a total of 14 rows. Change to larger needles.
Next row (RS) With MC, knit, dec 6 sts evenly spaced across - 96 (106, 116) sts. Cont in St st with MC, dec 1 st each side every 10th row 6 times - 84 (94, 104) sts. Work even until piece measures 11"/28cm above diamond edge.
Raglan armhole shaping
Bind off 4 (5, 5) sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Dec row 1 (RS) K1, k2tog, k to last 3 sts, ssk, k 1. Rep dec row 1 every other row 19 (17, 17) times more.
For Medium and Large/X-Large Sizes only
Dec row 2 (RS) K1, k3tog, k to last 3 sts,sssk,k1. Rep dec row 2 every other row (2, 4) times.
All Sizes Place 36 (36, 38) sts on a holder.
FRONT
Work as for back, including armhole shaping, until 46 (52, 58) sts rem. Cont armhole shaping working dec row 1 5(2, 0) times more and dec row 2 0(3, 5) times, AT THE SAME TIME on next RS row, place center 26 (26, 28) sts on st holder and dec 1 st from each neck edge every other row 3 times, Sl rem 2 sts each side to holders.
SLEEVES
Work 7 (8, 8) diamonds and then with smaller needles and MC, cast on 72 (82, 82) sts and work in garter strip edge pat for a total of 14 rows. Change to larger needles.
Next row (RS) With MC, dec 3 (6, 3) sts evenly spaced - 69 (76, 79) sts. Cont in St st with MC, dec 1 st each side every 4th row 8 times - 53 (60, 63) sts. Work 9 rows even. Inc 1 st each side of next row then every 8th row 4 (4, 5) times more - 63 (70, 75) sts. Work even until piece measures 15"/38cm above diamond edge.
Raglan cap shaping
Bind off 4 (5, 5) sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Dec row 1 (RS) K1, k2tog, k to last 3 sts, ssk, k1. Rep dec row 1 every other row 15 (18, 20) times more, every 4th row 2 (1, 1) times. SI rem 19 (20, 21) sts to a holder.
FINISHING
Block pieces to measurements. Sew raglan sleeves into armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams. Sew diamond points tog at lower edges.
Neckband
With circular needle and CC, work across 19 (20, 21) sts from left sleeve holder, 2 sts from left front neck holder and pick up and k 7 sts along shaped neck edge, 26 (26, 28) sts from front neck holder, 9 sts from right front neck as before, 19 (20, 21) sts from right sleeve and 36 (36, 38) sts from back neck - 118 (120, 126) sts. Join and work in rnds of garter st (k 1 rnd, p 1 rnd) for 4 rnds. Change to MC and work 6 rnds in garter st. K 1 rnd dec 10 (12, 14) sts evenly spaced - 108 (108, 112) sts.Work in garter st for 3 rnds. Bind off.
Embroidery
Work a French knot with CC in center of MC garter bands in every 6th st.Work a 5 petal lazy daisy flower in center of each diamond with a French knot at center.
