FIRST MOTIF
Rnd 1: Ch 7, join to form ring, ch 5, tr in ring, *ch 2, dtr in ring, ch 2, tr in ring, ch 2, dc in ring, ch 2, tr in ring, rep from * twice more, ch 2, dtr in ring, ch 2, tr in ring, ch 2, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-5.
Rnd 2: Ch 5, dc in tr, * ch 2, dc in dtr, ch 3, dc in same dtr as last dc, ch 2, dc in tr, ch 2, dc in dc, ch 2, dc in tr, rep from * twice more, ch 2, dc in dtr, ch 3, dc in same dtr as last dc, ch 2, dc in tr, ch 2, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-5.
Rnd 3: [Ch 4, hdc in same sp, sl st in next dc (hdc shell made)] 2 times, * work 3 hdc shells in corner lp, [hdc shell over next lp] 4 times, rep from * around, ending with sl st in base of beg hdc sh.
Rnd 4: Ch 7, [tr in between next hdc shells, ch 3] 3 times, * ch 5, tr in between next hdc shells, [ch 3, tr in between next hdc shells] 6 times, rep from * around, ending with sl st in 4th ch of beg ch-7.

JOINING MOTIFS On last rnd on adjacent sides, for each ch-11 lp (beginning with a corner lp), ch 5, sl st to center of ch-11 lp of opposing motif, ch 5 and sl st between next 2 shells of working motif, cont in this fashion until all ch-11 lps on each adjacent side of motifs are joined from corner to corner.
BORDER Attach thread to the lp farthest to the right-hand side of any motif on side edge. Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in same place, * [ch 3, sc in next lp] 13 times, ch 3, dtr in side of next lp, ch 3, dtr in joining between motifs, ch 3, dtr in side of next lp, ch 3, sc in next lp, rep from * around, except for corners, which will be worked with ch 3, sc in next lp except for the very corner lp, which will have [ch 3, sc in same sp] 2 times, ending with ch 1, dc in first sc. (8 lps increased total)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 11, sc in next lp, rep from * around, ending with ch 5, dtr in first sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 3, sc in next lp, rep from * around, except for corner lps in which you will add [ch 3, sc in same lp] 2 times, ending with ch 1, dc in first sc. (8 Ips increased total)
Rnds 4-7: Rep Rnds 2 and 3.
Rnd 8: Rep Rnd 2.
Rnd 9: Rep Rnd 3, except ending with ch 3, sl st to join in beg sc.
Rnd 10: Work shell in each lp around, except for corners, which will be worked as follows: After working shells up to the first sc in a corner lp, work shell, sc in next lp, shell, sc in next lp, shell, sc in next sc (rep this on each corner), otherwise work 1 shell per lp, ending with sl st in base of beg shell, fasten off.
