Materials:

. Yarn: 100 gr

. Crochet hook nº 3mm

Gauge: 24 dc x 13 rows = 10 x 10 cm


Abbreviations

Ch - chain; dc - double crochet; dec - decrease (decreasing); inc - increase (increasing); st(st) - stitch(es).

Dc2tog - 2 dc together (to decrease 1 dc): yarn over, insert hook into the next st, yarn over, draw through the work, yarn over, draw through 2 loops, yarn over, insert hook into next st, yarn over, draw through the work, yarn over, draw through 2 loops, yarn over, draw through all 3 loops, leaving just 1 loop. (photos 9 and 10)

Picot st: Ch 3, insert your hook in the 3rd ch from the hook. This ch st is the 1st you created in the preceding step. Yarn over and draw the yarn through the st and through the loop on the hook.

. The first 2 chains at the beginning of the row count as 1 dc.

Row 1

Ch 4, ch 2 (count as 1 dc and begin with a dc in the 3rd ch from the hook, 1 dc in the next ch = 5 dc.


Row 2

Ch 2, turn your work, 4 dc in the following sts.


Row 3

Repeat row 2 a total of 61 rows = 48cm.


Row 62

Begin increases: Ch 2, turn your work, 1 dc, 2 dc in next st, 2 dc = 6 dc.

Continue increasing rows until row 65, always making the increase in the 1st increase st of the previous row. Insert a stitch marker to help you counting the rows.


Rows 66

Ch 2, turn your work, 3 dc, 2 dc in the next st, 4 dc = 10 dc


Repeat this increasing pattern, making 2 dc in the 1st inc st of the previous row, for a total of 15 rows = approximately 13 cm (heigh) and 7 cm (width).


Note: Make sure that the last row is uneven.


Row 81

Ch 2, turn your work and continue in dc until the 1st inc stitch on the previous row and here make 3 dc, continue in dc until the end of the row. Insert a stitch marker.

Note: From this row the inc is done in the middle st, where 3 dc are made.


Repeat this row for a total of 8 rows with 3 dc in the middle = 14 cm, approx.

When stretching the work it should cover half of the chest.


Row 89

Ch 2, turn and work 1 rows with 1 dc in each dc from previous row (no inc).


Row 90

Start dec at the beginning and end of the row: ch 2, turn the work, dc2tog, continue in dc until the last 3 dc: dc2tog, finish with 1 dc. 

Insert a stitch marker.


Repeat this row for a total of 15 rows.


Row 105

(Continue without increases or decreases).

Ch 2, turn work and continue in dc until end of row. Place a st marker.


Repeat this row until mid back:

Approx measurements: from 1st row of 7 dc to mid back:

S 13 rows = 10 cm,

Insert a stitch marker.


Continue for 50 more rows (or number of rows for desired length) to make tying band. Do not cut the yarn.


Last row

Continue with a last row in sc all the way around as follows:

ch 1, *4 sc (2 in each space), 1 picot stitch*, repeat from * to *.


At the end of the band, in the corners to turn: 2 sc, 1 ch, 2 sc and continue as for the other side. Fasten off.
