Women Lacy Crochet Bolero pattern

SIZES: 36/38 European (8/10 UK) (4/6 US)  

MATERIALS

. Yarn: 100gr;

. hook size 2 mm;

. small transparent beads.

STITCHES USED

Flower stitch: see diagram.

Edge: see diagram (3 ch, 3 double crochet, slip stitch).

BACK

Start with a 40cm foundation chain and continue in flower st following the diagram. Work even until the work measures 32cm from the beginning. Cast off.

RIGHT FRONT

Start with a 16cm foundation chain and continue in flower st following the diagram, dec 1 st every two rows until the work measures 12cm from the beginning. Continue in flower st (without dec) until work measures 32cm. Cast off.

LEFT FRONT

Work as for the right front, reverse shapings.

FINISHING

[Note: the original pattern doesn’t mention it, but you can block your work for a better result].

Sew shoulder and side seams and sew a bead to each flower.

Work edgeband (see diagram) all around (back, front, bottom and armholes).

Make a chain cord with a double strand and pass it through the first row (bottom).

I will share with you how I found it easier to accomplish (directions and picture below). I hope it helps.

Row 1: Foundation ch, ch 3 and dc in the 4th ch from hook, ch 3 and dc passing the hook through the loops of the dc, dc 2 tog in the same ch of the 1st dc, skip 2 ch, dc in the next ch, ch 3 and dc passing the hook through the loops of the dc, dc in the same ch, *skip 2 ch, dc 2 tog in the next ch, ch 3 and dc passing the hook through the loops of the dc, dc 2 tog in the same ch of the last dc 2 tog, skip 2 ch, dc in the next ch, ch 3 and dc passing the hook through the loops of the dc, dc in the same ch*, repeat from *to* until the end of the row. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in the middle of the lying stitches, ch 3 and dc passing the hook through the loops of the dc, dc 2 tog in the same st, dc 2 tog in the middle of the next lying sts, ch 3 and dc passing the hook through the loops of the dc, dc in the same st, dc in the middle of the next lying sts, ch 3 and dc passing the hook through the loops of the dc, dc 2 tog in the same st, dc 2 tog in the middle of the next lying sts, ch 3 and dc passing the hook through the chains of the dc, dc in the same st, dc in the middle of the next lying sts, ch 3 and dc passing the loop through the loops of the dc, dc 2 tog in the same st, dc 2 tog in the last st.
